Seuss-tastic Activities (Part 1)

Dr. Seuss week is one of my favorite "therapy theme weeks"! I've been prepping quite a few activities for this week, so I decided to share a few in case you'd like to incorporate them (or your own variation) into your therapy room.

First up, The Cat in the Hat Artic!

This activity is super easy and versatile! All you have to do is cut white paper in the shape of the cat's hat, cut a few red strips of paper, and grab your artic pictures. You can add tons of pictures for extra artic practice too!! As a variation to the activity, you could always read the book together while the students look for words that include their sound and include them on the hat.

Next up, Oh, the Places You'll Go artic!

Oh, the Places You'll Go is my absolute favorite children's book, so you just know I had to include it this week! I'll be using this book and activity with my older artic students to verbalize and write goals that they have for themselves in the future. I started my own hot air balloon filled with my own goals to give them an example of the activity. Writing down our goals will help us collect our thoughts and ideally slow down and monitor our own speech. (Fingers crossed!) :)

Last up, Fox in Socks wh-questions!

I have tons of students working on wh-questions, so I found an easy sock template and wrote "who", "what", "where", "when", and "why" questions on the socks. I like this template by Twisty Noodle. Students can add a little bit of decoration to the socks once they have answered each question too!

I have a few more Dr. Seuss activities planned for this week, but they're still in the "prepping process" right now, so stay tuned for "part 2" of "Seuss-tastic Activities"!!

If you found these activities useful and would like to stay up to date with all of my activities, please "like" my facebook page that you can find here! Also, if you are looking for additional activities, please check out my TpT store here!
