{Review} Asking Good Questions

Time for some more great products by Great Ideas for Teaching!  Asking Good Questions targets auditory processing, visual observations, and expressive language by targeting specific questions.  (Talk about a well rounded product!)

This resource includes 60 reproducible pages divided into (20) 3-page units.  It is intended for children ages 3-6, but can certainly be adapted for children who are older than 6.

Each unit includes a picture page.

Also included are 10-15 specific questions that draw the child's attention to various aspects of the picture.  Each question also invites additional conversation.  For example, one of the questions for this picture is "Which one is the adult?"  This is a great way to discuss why the man appears to be an adult.  Also included is a list of basic vocabulary words related to the picture.  Once the child has answered these questions or worked on the vocabulary words, they can color the picture; however, this is also a therapy activity!  Statements and questions here include, "Color the man's shirt the color of a pumpkin.  What color will you make his shirt?"

But the versatility doesn't just stop there!  There are also two pictures that can be compared to determine how the images are the same and how they are different.

What I love about this product:
- Every question can invite additional conversation and can even be used to develop skills such as predicting and inference abilities.
- Even coloring a picture is made into a therapy task.  I love that children are learning while they are having fun!
- I like that in each picture, specific vocabulary words are targeted and listed for you as a reference.  This makes it so easy to make your copies and get on with the lesson.
