I'm so excited to bring you a review of two great products by The Speech Bubble, called "Build-a-Burger Social Skills" and "Speech Therapy Organization and Data Binder"!
*Make sure to keep reading for a chance to win one of these fantastic products and check out Maureen's review of two of my activities for a chance to win as well! That's FOUR awesome activities that are up for grabs!!!
First up on the review train is "Build-a-Burger Social Skills"!
This product includes four different activities (and bonus social skill certificates):
- "Is This Done Enough?" (Perspective Taking)
- "Who Took My Pickle?" (Expected and Unexpected Behaviors)
- "You're Out of Ketchup?" (Problem Solving)
- Review Strips
- Social Skills Certificates
For each of the first three activities, start by allowing each student to choose a burger mat.
Read on to find out about each of the super cute activities included in this packet!
Is This Done Enough?
Students take turns drawing perspective taking question cards. After reading the situation on the card, students must determine what people will think in each situation. If the student answers the question correctly, they can add their "topping" to their burger.
At the end of the game, students can determine who has the wackiest burger!
Who Took My Pickle?
If you are familiar with the idea of "expected vs. unexpected behaviors", developed by Michelle Garcia Winner, you will absolutely love this section of the packet! Students take turns drawing behavior cards and determining if the actions are considered expected or unexpected in each situation. If the student answers the question correctly, they can add their "topping" to their burger.
At the end of the game, students can determine who has the wackiest burger!
You're Out of Ketchup?
Students take turns drawing problem solving cards. Then, the student states the problem as well as an appropriate compromise or solution to the problem. If the student answers the question correctly, they can add their "topping" to their burger.
At the end of the game, students can determine who has the wackiest burger!
Review Strips
These strips can be used as a quick review to check a student's skills. Students can show what they've learned by responding appropriately to each question.
Social Skills Certificates
I love these cute little social skill certificates! You can easily present the certificate to the child and write a quick note to the parent about what you've worked on on the back of the certificate. I love dual purpose items!
